Education Ends Sexual Violence.

The Survivors.org Training and Education Program is a service provided by Survivors.org in exchange for donations to fund our survivor support programs. We primarily serve high schools, colleges, businesses or corporations, law enforcement officers, and other non-profit organizations. However, we are open to speaking to a wide range of audiences.

Survivors.org provides training and education in the following ways:

  • Deconstructing Sexual Violence

    We often talk and hear about sexual violence, but what does it really mean? In this presentation, we will break down the basics and nuances of sexual violence while also having an important conversation about what sexual violence means to participants themselves.

  • It Isn’t Your Fault: Consent, Coercion, and Digital Sexual Violence

    Survivors of digital sexual abuse, such as non-consensual image distribution, face particularly intense victim-blaming. In this presentation, we discuss how consent and coercion can look in online spaces, and why survivors of digital sexual violence are never to blame.

  • What Does a Sexual Assault Survivor Look Like?

    There are so many myths and misconceptions surrounding what makes someone a “real” survivor. In this presentation, we confront those myths with facts to promote support over skepticism when a survivor discloses.

  • The Officer’s Guide to a Survivor-Centered Approach

    In this training, officers will be taken inside the mind of a survivor. They will learn the basics of consent and sexual violence, taking away specific best practices that they can personally implement in their interactions with survivors

  • Paving the Way for a Future Free From Sexual Violence

    Survivors.org’s “basic” training, this presentation discusses consent, healthy relationships, mental health, and supporting survivors in our daily lives. This presentation is ideal for those who are looking to introduce these topics to a broad audience, such as a student body.

  • “Be a Good Sport” Sexual Violence and Group Dynamics in Sports

    In this presentation, we discuss how sexual violence in an athletic setting can exacerbate the struggles survivors face, and what we can do in response.

  • Sexual Violence and Suicide

    Sexual violence is a traumatic event that can have a significant impact on a survivor’s mental health, In this presentation, we discuss the relationship between sexual violence and suicide, giving critical knowledge on suicide prevention and intervention, addressing the myths that surround suicide.

  • Marginalized Survivors

    In this presentation, we discuss the experiences and barriers to support that groups of survivors who do not fit the stereotypical image of a sexual assault survivor face, so that we can provide those groups that with the best support possible. We will also discuss intersectionality and how some of our nation’s most vulnerable people often fall through the cracks.

  • Support Space

    Survivors.org can host a supportive space for those who need it. Whether it be making ourselves available to talk after a presentation, or hosting a supportive space for people to share with others, we can support you by providing a safe place for vulnerability.

  • How To Operate a Support Space

    Want to train your group to host support spaces? This workshop is for you. We will teach you how to get a group started, how to take a survivor-centered approach, and the do’s and don’ts that group facilitators should follow.

  • Trauma-Informed Art Workshop

    Survivors.org can host an art workshop that helps participants learn more about themselves, process emotions, and/or an opportunity to foster dialogue about sexual violence. We offer both a writing and visual-arts based workshop, covering a variety of prompts.
