Being a survivor can feel isolating, but you are not alone.
Every survivor of sexual, domestic, and intimate partner violence has a unique experience. However, hearing the stories of others helps shed light on the fact that many survivors have shared experiences, emphasizing that we are not alone in our healing journey. They also serve as reminders that healing is possible and doesn’t look the same for everyone.
Hearing other survivor stories also reminds us that this is a societal issue, not one to blame on survivors themselves. Listening to and sharing experiences builds community and empathy by humanizing those who are often left feeling dehumanized.
Here on Survivors.org, you can hear the stories of other survivors, connect with other survivors, and share your own story.

Speaking To Survivors
Survivor Submissions
Survivor Stories Submissions
Your story is yours.
And you deserve to have control over how it is told.
Your voice is yours.
And it deserves to be heard.
Do you want to share your story on Survivors.org?
We’re here to amplify your voice if speaking out is part of your journey. Many survivors find healing and relief from sharing their story with others. Submit your story using the submission form to have it published on Survivors.org. You can share your story in any written format and share as much or as little detail as you’d like.
Please note that submissions that contain the following will not be used:
- graphic descriptions of violence or abuse
- hate speech, use of slurs, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, etc.
Please note: Survivor Stories submissions will be reviewed by Survivors.org staff. Survivors.org staff are subject to mandatory reporting, so personally identifiable disclosures of the abuse of children, the elderly, and/or vulnerable adults will be reported to the appropriate state agency.
