Experiences of sexual violence in teens are shaped by the pervasive reality of rape culture, which normalizes sexual violence. This cultural influence impacts all teens. Teenage boys who may be pressured to conform to toxic masculinity. Adopting traits of toxic masculinity can lead to harmful attitudes toward relationships and consent. Further, the sexualization of teenage girls creates a narrative that targets them, perpetuating unrealistic expectations and contributing to a culture of victim-blaming when incidents of abuse occur. Purity culture compounds these problems, emphasizing harmful ideologies that dictate young people’s choices and reinforce stigma. Peer pressure additionally can complicate navigating these topics and experiences. In the age of technology people now experience.

By cultivating a community that prioritizes open dialogue, promotes healthy relationships and empower individuals to advocate for their rights and boundaries.

Experiencing sexual violence as a teen is a unique experience with its own set of challenges. Finding shared spaces with other teensurvivors can mean the difference between feeling supported and feeling overlooked. In creating this space for teen survivors, we hope to cultivate connection and foster true community.

Take It Down

Take It Down is a free service that can help you remove or stop the online sharing of nude, partially nude, or sexually explicit images or videos taken of you when you were under 18 years old. You can remain anonymous while using the service and you won’t have to send your images or videos to anyone. Take It Down will work on public or unencrypted online platforms that have agreed to participate.
